Black. White. Blue. And a whole lot of attitude.

Polar Pinguin’s home jersey combines classic black-and-white soccer stripes with bright blue details, mesh side panels, and the embroidered penguin crest. There is deliberately no traditional sponsor logo on the chest: Instead, Polar Pinguin features PRO ASYL —a nonprofit organization—on its jersey, highlighting its commitment to the rights of refugees on Berlin’s soccer fields.

And attitude has been part of the deal right from the start: Polar Pinguin was founded in 1990 in a Schöneberg bar, the legendary Pinguin Club on Wartburgstraße. After a few beers, a group of young soccer players who shared a love of punk music and soccer decided to turn their foosball game into a club. The Pinguin Club became the source of the name—and what started as a crazy idea back then grew into a Berlin soccer club with a unique identity all its own.

Perhaps the Berlin jersey that makes the clearest statement. It’s definitely not off-the-rack.
