ZERO EMISSIONS
Every product we make generates emissions—from the production of the yarn to the printing of your custom design on the white polyester fabric. But even after a product is finished, it continues to generate emissions—for example, when you wash a jersey after a game. It’s nearly impossible to avoid emissions during both production and use. What matters is how we manage them and ensuring they are in line with what the environment can offset. Welcome to “ZERO EMISSION”.
GREENWASHING
Buying a product, planting trees, and thereby consuming in a climate-neutral way is a myth. It takes years for the trees to grow and filter the CO₂ back out of the atmosphere. That’s why we partner with Ecologi to offset emissions by investing in projects that directly save or reduce CO₂. And beyond that, we’re taking another important step. These projects also support local communities in improving their quality of life through environmental protection, rather than destroying farmland to plant trees there. For example, the Forest Gardens in Tanzania or the reduction of emissions through sustainable composting in Vietnam. Or what does access to clean drinking water have to do with environmental pollution? The burning of fossil fuels is effectively reduced because water no longer needs to be boiled. We believe these approaches make sense, and we want to support them—together with you!
That’s why you’ll find the CO₂ emissions for your order, estimated based on studies, in every offer. And the associated costs to offset these emissions through investments in projects.
What happens then?
We invest in a community project on your behalf to offset the emissions generated by your order. Ecologi determines which project to invest in based on current needs. You can find the project you’ve supported—along with all the relevant information and your name listed as a supporter—in our digital project park, where you’ll become a permanent part of it.
